A useful signature is repeatable, quick, and distinctive. Repetition helps verification, speed makes signing easy, and distinctiveness makes copying harder. Legibility and beauty sit much lower on the list. This page measures consistency and speed; distinctiveness needs a different test.
Can a signature really reveal personality?

What makes a signature hard to forge?
